Worthing is easily accessible by all forms of Transport and the Town Centre is flat, so easy to walk around, and just a stones throw from the promenade. Many Independent shops and businesses are located off the main precinct so make sure you allow time to explore all Worthing has to offer.

By Car

The main routes into Worthing Town Centre are from the A24, A27 and A259.

Once in the Town Centre there are plenty of Car Parks, both surface and multi-storey, as well as street parking.

The main multi-storey parking is in Grafton Road, High Street, Buckingham Road →

These operate a ticketless system using number plate recognition.  You pay on exit, using one of the pay machines, where you enter your registration number and pay for the time you have parked.

Current charges are: Monday to Saturday rate 6am to 10pm (includes Bank Holidays)

  • Up to 1 hour – £1.00
  • Up to 2 hours – £2.00
  • Up to 3 hours – £3.90
  • Up to 4 hours – £5.20
  • Up to 5 hours – £6.50
  • Over 5 hours or all day – £11.00
  • Sunday rate: 6am to 10pm
  • £1.00 an hour with a maximum charge of £5.00
  • Night rate: 10pm to 6am: No charge

All car parks are open 24 hours a day but lifts are only operational Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 5pm.

  • High Street / Grafton Car & Buckingham Rd Car Parks    £6 per day + a 20p convenience charge

You only pay for days you park and can enter and exit the Car Parks as often as needed during the day.

The street parking is in a controlled parking zone and pay machines are located around the Town Centre.  You should always check roadside signs for guidance when entering and parking in these areas.

  • The following charges apply in the central parking zone Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm
  • £1.60 per hour
  • £0.80 per 30 minutes

Outside of these times parking is free which includes all day Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Bicycle

There are cycle routes around the Town Centre and cycling is allowed along the promenade.

There are bike racks located around the Town Centre.  The Cycle Hub is located at High Street multi-storey car park in and allows members to safely store bikes in a secure and convenient location in the centre of town.

Bus

A number of bus companies operate services to and from Worthing Town Centre.

Stagecoach is the main operator with some additional services being offered by Compass, Metrobus and Brighton and Hove Buses (night bus only).  The main bus drop off and pick up points are Marine Parade and South Street.

Train

Worthing is well served by regular train services to/from Brighton, Gatwick Airport, Portsmouth, Southampton, and London.  The journey to London Victoria takes about one and half hours.

The station is about a 10-15 minute walk to the main Town Centre and Seafront area and there is also a regular bus service operating from outside of the train station.
