Beach Sand Courts

Built in 2011 thanks to a £32,500 grant from Sport England via Volleyball England and £17,000 from Worthing Borough Council, the sand courts were created to encourage more people to play sport.

Adur & Worthing Councils’ Regeneration Team successfully applied for the money to replace disused tennis courts at the Beach House Grounds with the multi sport sand court and a few years later flood lighting was added, helped by funding from WSCC’s Kick Start Programme to increase the opportunities for clubs and the community to use this facility at all times of day, throughout the year.

The next chapter…

Since their conception, the sand courts have grown in use and popularity now providing a home for a number of sand sports clubs and activity centres including Sussex Beach Volleyball Club, Beach Tennis UK, Beach Soccer and Hydro Watersports
