Worthing has faced its share of challenges recently, from ongoing roadworks and parking concerns to the unfortunate closure of some beloved shops. However, our town’s resilience shines through as we adapt and welcome new opportunities.
Enhancing Safety and Security
In response to rising concerns about shoplifting, Worthing BID has taken proactive measures by hiring an additional security staff member. This expansion ensures seven-day coverage, providing a safer environment for both shoppers and businesses. Furthermore, we hold weekly meetings with Sussex Police to discuss initiatives like the new nighttime safety marshall scheme, aimed at enhancing security during evening hours.
Exciting New Openings
Despite recent challenges, Worthing’s town centre is experiencing a wave of exciting new openings:
- A much-needed supermarket has opened on Portland Road, offering convenience to local residents.
 - An Asian supermarket on Montague Street caters to those who enjoy cooking international cuisines at home.
 - National jewellery retailer Warren James has set up shop, adding sparkle to our retail landscape.
 - Several new eateries have launched, contributing to Worthing’s diverse and thriving food scene.
