Lizzie Webb -“Mad About The Boys”
COME AND MEET LIZZIE
A wonderful story, wonderfully told.
Funny, touching, inspiring.”
Gyles Brandreth
In this funny, poignant and absorbing memoir, ‘Mad Lizzie’ Webb charts her phenomenal rise from drama/dance teacher to beloved fitness queen of breakfast television.
Lizzie is best known for her ten years on TV-am, ITV’s first breakfast station and is television’s longest-running daily fitness instructor. During the 80s and early 90s, she inspired the nation to get on the move with celebrity guests queueing up to join her. The music that featured in her routines shot to the top of the charts resulting in hits for the likes of Take That, Sonia and George Harrison; she also collaborated with Simon Cowell for several years. Lizzie has several awards for her numerous exercise and dance videos including Joggy Bear, her children’s character.
But as the memoir reveals there is far more to Lizzie outside her television work. Since 1970, she has been committed to teaching and working with young people, transforming the lives of vulnerable children, excluded pupils, juvenile offenders and ex-prisoners.
Filled with heartfelt stories, Lizzie’s book reveals the fascinating two sides to her extraordinary and inspiring life.

Worthing Town Centre BID will be hosting an inspiring installation, named ‘I want to live’, which stands 13ft tall and depicts the silhouette of a soldier holding a baby whilst leading a refugee mother and child to safety. It will be in South Street Square from 3rd - 15th May. Supported by Worthing Borough Council and Worthing BID by offering space and no fees were paid for the installation or removal. The tribute has been in Portsmouth before here and will be in Brighton next.
This moving tribute is touring round the UK and then to Europe and we are fortunate to have it here in Worthing as last-minute addition to the tour.
The creator of the installation, Dan Barton, has also created the installation at Fort Nelson which is to remember the military personal and civilians who died in the Falklands War.
The picture is of Dan the artist with the tribute in Salisbury.

Does the bunting include additional parking in town? 3 car parks now no longer available 🙄
It would be so good to also have bunting in Portland Rd as already discussed last year !
Great time of the year!! ☀️
Just in time for Sunday! Looking good!

This week the BID is supporting the #ShopKind Campaign. The aim of the campaign is to encourage positive behaviour in shops, acknowledge shop workers importance in our town and highlight the impact of violence and abuse against shop workers.
We think our retail and shop workers do a fantastic job and are essential for our happy and thriving town centres.
