The Worthing Town Centre Initiative funds and organises the planting of 46 flowerbeds along Worthing promenade. Each of the beds is adopted by a local business, community group, charity or individual and they plant and maintain the bed during the summer. The event is run as a competition with the opportunity for competitors to win the top prize of £500, a runner up prize of £200 or the People’s Choice prize of £100.
Planting day took place on May 23rd and voting for the peoples choice prize opened on 14th July. The voting is via Facebook with a like on the picture of the flowerbed counting as a vote. Voting is open until 5pm on 20th August and anyone can vote.
