Plans are well underway for a great Christmas in Worthing for 2022.
The Worthing Town Centre Initiative will be busy with a programme of events and activities to attract people into the Town Centre to support their local businesses over the festive period.
Christmas Lights
Some of the Christmas Lights are now on but unfortunately due to the very wet and windy weather conditions not all the work could be completed. The walk-through tree and Christmas present are ready for those that love a selfie but there are more lights to go on. The remainder of the work will be completed by Sunday 20th November. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT HAVE A CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON EVENT IN WORTHING BUT MAKE SURE YOU COME TO OUR COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS EVENT ON 1ST DECEMBER.
On 24th November the fantastic solar powered Christmas Trees will go on in the West End, these are eco-friendly and with the red and gold baubles will add to the festive feel during the day as well as after dark. The 24th is the earliest we can have these working due to the battery life of the units, but it will give us a great opportunity to highlight the wonderful West End businesses as well as our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint.
Christmas Tree Trail
Again, on 24th November the Christmas Trees will be put in place for our Christmas Tree Trail. This year there will be 14 Trees that have been adopted and will be decorated by businesses and community groups. The public will vote, and the winning tree will be awarded a £250 Worthing Gift Card. Trees must be decorated by close of play 30th November and voting will be open 2nd December to 23rd December.
Countdown to Christmas Event – Montague Street 3pm to 7pm
Our Christmas event this year will be held on Thursday 1st December as the Countdown to Christmas gets underway. The event is FREE and will be a great way for our independent traders to showcase their businesses in the heart of the Town Centre at our Independents Market. Mr Worthing Dave Hunt will be getting the party started with games and competitions, musical performances, a special visit from the light up Fairy. Santa will be taking time out from his preparations to join us and if that isn’t enough Titan the Robot (semi-finalist from Britain’s Got Talent) will be showing that Robots love Christmas too. Titan will be appearing at 4.30pm and 6.00pm
We would love businesses to get involved and stay open later, if possible, so Worthing can launch Christmas in style.
Toy Soldier Trail
The Toy Soldier Trail is back taking shoppers all over the Town Centre looking for our colourful soldiers. There are 12 to find and those that collect all 12 names will be entered into the Prize draw for
1 x £100 Worthing Gift Card
1 x £50 Worthing Gift Card
1 x £25 Worthing Gift Card
The trail runs from 1st December to 23rd December.

Christmas Window Display Competition
Traders will be able to enter the Christmas Window Competition with the public voting on their favourite window. The prize for this is being decided by the Independents Group so watch this space!! Window voting will be open 8th December until 23rd December; if you want your window to be included, please email sharon@worthingtowncentre.co.uk
And finally … the post box for Toy Soldier entries will also be available for letters to Santa with Christmas Cards from the big man being sent to those that provide an address. Last day for cards being sent is 21st December 2022.
It’s going to be a busy Christmas and with Markets from The Great Little Farmers Market, Level 1 and Rooms planned so there will be lots of reasons to come into Worthing Town Centre this Christmas.
